White buffalo is renowned for its striking, pure white to milky white hue, accentuated by black or brown veining.
Although it is often referred to as white buffalo turquoise, it lacks the element copper, which is responsible for turquoise's distinctive blue-green color, thereby rendering it technically distinct from turquoise.
The term “White Buffalo” originates from the Native American belief that white buffalo embody purity and rarity, much like the stone itself. Initially discovered in the Dry Creek Turquoise mine in Tonopah, Nevada, it was mistakenly identified as turquoise due to its similar appearance and vein structure.
